Leah Marie Shellberg graduated from the University of North Carolina in Asheville in 2006 with a B.A. in mass communication, emphasizing print journalism. After spending several years as a freelance journalist, she embarked on a new journey at Elon University School of Law in 2010.
During her time at Elon, Leah was a member of the Women’s Law Association, Innocence Project, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Business Law Association. She was a research assistant for Professor David Levine, and was also a defender on Elon’s Honor Council. Her research and academic writing can be viewed here. Her article, Saṃsāra to Nirvana, was published in the Spring 2014 volume of the San Diego International Law Journal. She received her J.D. cum laude in May 2013, and is licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina.
In her free time, Leah enjoys yoga, reading, and documentaries.
